Collection: Kantha Kimonos

A collection of gorgeous flowy Kimonos made from Recycled Indian Kantha fabric.

What is Kantha?

Kantha is a very old tradition of stitching patchwork cloth from rags, which evolved from some OG thrifting done by rural women in areas of India.

Whilst the word 'kantha' has no etymological root, it is believed to be derived from the Sanskrit word 'Kontha' meaning rags!

Traditionally, old cotton Saris, dresses and skirts which had turned soft from wear, are used to make Kantha, with the thread for the stitching drawn out from the fabric itself! Recycling at its best!

*Due to the nature of the recycled fabrics there are imperfections in Kantha, from the odd little hole, scratch, pull or mark*
